FINNISH DEFENCES
Second Line Cracking (Received June 15, 1.30 a.m.) LONDON. June 14. The Red Army has opened a crack in the Finnish second defence line on the Viborg road sector, reports Reuter’s Moscow correspondent. The defences were exceptionally strong, and comprise granite and concrete pill-boxes, anti-tank ditches, and machinegun nests. The Finns have brought: up fresh reserves to counter the Russian attempts to widen the breach.
