SALVATION SHIP

Use On Australian Coast

The first Ned Shield ship in the world has been commissioned, states Commissioner Dalziel, territorial commander of the Salvation Army in Southern Australia, who will conduct meetings in Wellington tomorrow. She is a trim launch, donated to the Salvation Army by the Melbourne and Metropolitan Board of Works Employees Patriotic Fund, and will be used for visiting servicemen along the north-west coast of Australia. The vessel has been christened “The Salvo.” There is no other way of reaching isolated bodies of troops along this coast, and the vessel will prove of great value, enabling Salvation Army welfare officers to make contacts with the men, distributing comfort.-; and holding meetings and serving in any way possible.
