Text Of Belgian Prime Minister’s Speech

The Belgian Consul-General has received the text of the D-Day broadcast by the Belgian Prime Minister, M. Pierlot, from Loudon to the Belgian people, telling them that this was the initial assault in operations for thfeir long-await-ed deliverance and urging them to preserve in the coming days of difficulty and suspense that discipline they bad shown in the -past four years. M. Pierlot urged Belgians, while awaiting the moment of supreme battle, to continue secret sabotage of the enemy's war machine and to avoid falling into such German traps as false instructions from agents provocateur devised to make them show their hand prematurely, with terrible consequences. “Obey with complete discipline all the orders given you by the Allied Supreme Command and your Government, but watch for unverified rumours. Make sure that the only news you accept is that broadcast by Allied radio stations. When the supreme moment comes, you will be informer! and will then be clearly told what is expected of you.
