“ARSENIC AND OLD LACE”

Tomorrow afternoon at. the Wellington Opera House, starting at 2.15. and tomorrow evening, at 8.10, J. C. Williamson’s all-star comedy company will stage the initial two presentations of the clever and highly entertaining comedy-drama, “Arsenic and Old Lace." When the dramatic critic. Mortiner Brewster, learns that Ills dear old aunts, Abby and Martha, renowned for their charity and piety, have poisoned a round dozen of men. the fact assumes hilarious asneets. A pla.v of this kind has to be perfectly performed, and going by reports from Auckland, the latest J. C. Williamson company is evidently one of the best that has visited New. Zealand from overseas. It is beaded by Lloyd Lambic and Neva Carr Glyn. both of whom have been appearing successfully in Australia for several years past. Ethel Gabriel and Lily Moore are two very experienced actresses, and are both presented at their best in the opening production, as also are Frank Bradley. John Tate. Bettlna Welch. Allan Christie. Sam Stern. John Grav. Alan Rankin, Leslie King and Stephen Chapman. Only a limited number of performances can be staged of "Arsenic and Old Lace.” and it will be followed by "Susan aud God.” “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” and “Claudia.”
