Royal New Zealand Navy:— Distinguished Service Cross (lor good service in the attack on tlie German battleship Tirpitz).—Temporary Lieutenant. (A) Roderick James Harrison, R.N.Z.N.V.R.: Temporary Sub-Lieuten-ant. (A) John Dean Herrold, R.N.Z.N.V.R. For good .service iu attack on enemy irircrnft: Temporary Lieutenant (A) Erik Sven Erikson, R.N.Z.N.V.R. Mentioned in Dispatches (for good service in attack on enemy aircraft).—Temporary Lieutenant (A) William Clifford Dimesi R.N.Z.N.V.R.
Lieutenant (A) Harrison joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as a naval airman second class, on January 16, 1941, and after training in the Royal Navy was. promoted to sub-lieuten-ant (A) ou January 6, 1912, and to temporary lieutenant. (A) on January 6, 19-13. Lieutenant (A) Harrison was born at Nelson on May 7, 1917, nnd before his entry in the Royal New Zealand Navy was a school teacher. His next-of-kin is bis father, Mr. R. Harrison. 191 Fendalton Road, Christchurch. Temporary Sub-Lieutenant (A) Herreid was reported as missing, presumed killed,, on April 28, 1944. He joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as a naval airman second class on December 8, 1941, and after training in the ■ Royal Navy was promoted to temporary sub-lieuten-ant (A) on January 24, 1943. He was born on February 26, 1922, at Waiuku, and before joining the Royal .New Zealand Navy was a student. His uext-of-kin is his father, Mr. J. H. Herrold, 10 Malfroy Road, Rotorua. Lieutenant (A) Erikson joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as* a naval airman. second class, on April 16, 1941, aud after undergoing training in the Royal Navy was promoted to temporary sub-lieuten-ant (A), R.N.Z.N.V.R., on February 22, 1942, and to temporary lieutenant (A) on March 10, 1943. He is a naturalized Finn and before entry in the. Royal New Zealand Navy was an electrical worker. His father is Mr. Jacob Erikson, Waiuku. ♦
Lieutenant (A) Dimes joined the Royal New Zealand Navy as a naval airman second class, on April 16, 1941, and after undergoing training in the Royal Navy was promoted Jo temporary sub-lieutenant (A), R.N.Z.N.V.R., on May 11, 1942, and to temporary lieutenant (A) on May 11, 1943. He was born in Wellington on February 5, 1918, and before entry in the Royal New Zealand Navy was a draughtsman. His next-of-kin is his mother, Mrs. F. Dimes, 45 Palm Avenue, Lyall Bay.
