YUGOSLAV CABINET

King’s Negotiations (British Official Wireless.) (Received May 25, 7 p.m.) RUGBY, May 24. Great satisfaction is expressed in Yugoslav circles about Mr. Churchill’s statement on Yugoslav affairs which, it is stressed, goes far to 'clear the way for united action in the Yugoslav camp, writes a political correspondent. The statement contained the first authoritative confirmation of the resignation of the Puritch Government and' the dropping of Mihailovitch, on which no official-Yugo-slav announcement had been published so far. Dr. Ivan Subasitch, a former Governor of Croatia, who is charged by King Peter with the' formation of the new Cabinet, told the correspondent that his conversations were continuing and some decision might be reached tomorrow. Meanwhile, it is learned that some former Serbian members of the Yugoslav Government are exerting strong pressure on the King to agree to a small Cabinet headed by M. Yovanovitch, former Yugoslav Prime Minister. However, King Peter, who has shown considerable skill in conducting negotiations of great delicacy, is not likely to allow a comeback of a Prime Minister who was one of the outstanding champions of Mihailovitch, who. in Mr. Churchill’s words, “has not been fighting the enemy and some of whose subordinates have made accommodations with the Germans.”
