Mr C M. Bowden, M.P. for Wellington West, left Wellington yesterday on a short business trip to Australia. Mr. C. E. Robertson, manager of the stud stock department of Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., has been appointed a director of the company. Mr. W. Bankes Amery, leader of the United Kingdom Food Mission to Australia and New Zealand, is in Auckland. Mr. R. Sievers has been re-elected president of the Makara-Hutt Valley branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. Commissioner J. Evan Smith, territorial commander of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, with Commissioner W . R. Dalziel, territorial commander for South Australia, who came to New Zealand for the annual congress meetings, left Wellington last night for a tour of the South Island.
