With this short address, it is alleged, the sailor suited action to his words and produced a razor which he wiped round the driver's throat, adding: “1 would as soon slit your throat as a Japanese.” The incident is reported Io have occurred in Tinakori Hoad shortly after 8 p.m.. following an accusation by the sailor that he was being taken on a longer trill than necessary. Ido renewed the threat, when he reached his destination, but paid his fare.

It is reported that as a consequence a man was arrested alter inquiries had been made,.
