W.D.F.U. Branches Confer
The first interprovincial conference of tlie IVonien's Division of tlie Farmers’ Union having constitutional' status took place in Palmerston North recently. On behalf of tlie AVellington central provincial council. Mrs. J. A. Harris, president, welcomed the delegates. Mrs. J. C. Wickham. 'Vanganni. was elected chairman and Mrs. 11. Millard. Hangiotu. secretary. It was decided to send to the Dominion executive the following recommendations concerning rules of (be internrovincial council: That all such conferences be held in Ylarch of each year; that the rules of the Farmers’ Union be adhered to us far as possible; and that only remits from provincial councils which are approved by the interprovincial conference he sent to the Dominion executive, lleniits were passed, and these are to be sent as recotnmeiidiitions to the Dominion conference. Compulsory savings for young people and the qiiality of serial stories, particularly children's, on the radio and in the cinema, and Ibe room there was for improvement, formed the subjects of twu remits from the IVairnrnna branch.
