PRIMARY SCHOOLS SWIMMING
A feature of the Wellington primary schools’ annual swimming championships, the finals of which were held in the Thorndon Baths yesterday afternoon, was the high standard exhibited by the young competitors, which augurs well for future competitive swimming in Wellington. Between 200 and 300 schoolchildren from the city area competed In the finals for the various championships for their respective The sports, which were ably controlled by Mr. G. C. Read, honorary educational officer, were completed well to schedule and praise is due to the- officials who carried out their duties so admirably. Results of finals were: Western /one, S 3 points, 1: Northern Zone. 28 points, 2; Central Zone, 27 points. 3;_ Eastern Zone, 21 points. 4: North (2), 12 points, 5.
