Forlong—Roberts
All Saints’ Church, Palmerston North was the scene of a quiet and very charming wedding on Saturday, January 8, when Anne, youngest daughter of Mr. F. J. Roberts and the late Sirs. Roberts, Pohangina Valley, was married to Nel son Gordon, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. 11. G. Forlong, Jlarton. The Rev. Mr. Farnell, Ashhurst, officiated.
The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a lovely trained gown of heavy ’cream satin. Iler tulle embroidered veil, belonging to her sister. Mrs. J. L. Nash, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, lent by Mrs. M. H. Fprloug. and she carried a sheaf of cream water lilies, carnations, rosebuds and maidenhair fern. Her bridesmaid was her niece. Miss Gwynneth Roberts, Hamilton, who wore a charming frock of blush pink taffeta and carried a trailer bouquet of palest pink earns tious and pink cornflowers. The bridegroom was attended by liis brother, L/Ac. Charles Forlong, R.N.Z.A.F. Ml. J. Holmes Runnicles was at the organ. Guests were entertained at the Rosco luncheon rooms, where they were, received by Mrs. J. L. Nash,-wearing a smart black and white ensemble with shoulder spray, assisted by Miss Phoebe Forlong, who wore a dusky pink frock with a black hat and accessories. “Oh, Promise Me” was sung by Miss Irene Roberts.. Mr. J. A. Nash invited the guests to his home at Weston Avenue for the afternoon, to speed the bride and bride groom, who later left by car, the bride wearing a smartly tailored costume m grey with navy accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Forlong’s future home will be at Maraetai. Auckland.
International Intercession Tomorrow. Women belonging to all denomination!; and organizations are invited to attenq the sessions being held tomorrow at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul to mark the International World Day of Prayer for Women iu Wellington. The first session, commencing at 10.30 a.m., will feature an address by Mrs. 11. E. J. Wallis, Miss Alice Cook will be the speaker mthe 2 o’clock session. Services throughout - New Zealand and more than' 50 other countries will be similarly observe! by thousands of women as an annual iutcrnatioual bond.
An attractive little frock of powder blue crepe is' made with a gathered panel in Die front of the skirt, flanked either side with a spray of self-em-broidered flowers with black centres. The same embroidery appears again on either side of the front of the bodice, which is gathered both back and front into the waist line. Wilson’s, 52 Willis Street.—Advt.
