Labour Party Remits
Remits for consideration at. the Easter conference of the New Zealand Labour Party suggest that radio licence fees be reduced to 12/6 a year, that greater use be made of the radio for explaining Government policy, political propaganda, and matters of national interest, and that the Government set up or appoint (a) a Department of Information, 6b) a Minister of Publicity, (c) a national publicity officer.
Proposals concerning the Press are: That a conference of newspaper proprietors and editors be called to discuss their attitude toward the Government; that all articles of a political nature be (a) censored, (b) signed by author; and that the Press be held responsible for the truth of all articles.
