Each year quotas for subscribing to various bodies engaged in assisting the sick and wounded of the present war are established by the Colonial Sugar Refining Co. . , ~ New Zealand s share of the amount was £250, and a cheque for this sum has been received by the treasurer of the Joint Council of the Order ot St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross boeietj. The thanks of all interested in the humane work of caring for the sick and wounded will be conveyed to the company. The patriotic funds will also benefit.
