Crippled Children To : Benefit

The women’s service auxiliary of the Crippled Children Society will benefit from the bridge party held by the Oriental Bay-Roseneath branch of the Women’s National Reserve in Wellington yesterday. There were 200 players, and the sum of £26 will, be handed to the auxiliary. The party, which was the first of the season for the branch, was held in the Majestic Cabaret, through the courtesy of Mr. F. Carr, and will this year take place there every Monday and Thursday. Mrs. F. N. R. Meadows gave a baby’s coat for competition, and Mrs. W. A. Nicholson, a fruit -cake. Mesdames K. Jefferies, Jackman and Black helped the committee to serve afternoon tea. A smart frock of oyster grey satinbacked crepe has a square yoke in front outlined "with white chain stitch embroidery. The skirt with pleats back and front, has two pockets which are also embroidered. Wil son’s, 52 Willis St.—Advt.
