Ltd.’s return for the fortnight ended January 19 was 4030 z. for 248 J hours from 147,015 cubic yards. Cabled advice has been received by the IXTcllington Stock Exchange that the Mt. Morgan estimated working deficit for the four weeks ended January 9 was £17,406. Gear Meat Profit The gross profit for the year ended November 30, 1942, before provision for taxation, was £141,290, and after provision of £95,117 for taxation left £46,182, said Mr. Stronach Paterson, chairman of directors, at the annual meeting of the Gear Jfeat Co., Ltd., held in XVellington yesterday. The gross profit for the past year, before provision for taxation, was £133,135, out of which provision was made for £89,000 for taxes, leaving a gross profit of £44,135. Out of the gross profit the sum of £6OOO was added to the plant renewal reserve, leaving a net profit for the year, after payment of all expenses and provision for all taxation, of £22,652. The carry forward in the profit and loss account at November 30, 1942, was £11,974. Adding the profit of the year ended November 30. 1043. £22,652, the total amount available for distribution was £34,626. Out of this sum in June last an Interim dividend of 6d. a share was paid, absorbing £11,500 and leaving £23,126. The payment -of a dividend of 9d. and bonus of 3d. a share less the Interest dividend of 6d. paid in June will absorb. £11,500, and will leave to be carried forward in next year’s accounts £11,626 as against the carry forward from the 1042 year of £11,974,
