While patrolling the beaches in the Cloudy Bay area last Friday, a Blenheim police party searching for traces of the victims of 'the recent Warrigal launch fatality in Cook Strait, found four lifesaving jackets. Three of these were at Rarangi and one in White’s Bay. These are not considered to have any connexion with the launch tragedy, and it has been suggested that perhaps they were lost by servicemen who some time ago practised landing operations iu "the vicinity. An endeavour is being nu|de by the police to trace the origin, of the jackets, which are of the ordinary cork. and ..canvas -type.
