CONCERT AT MIRAMAR
A successful concert iu aid of the funds for the proviison of Plunket rooms at Miramar was held in Ibc Capitol Theatre. Miramar, on Sunday night, the Minister of Works, Mr. Semple, being among those present. The objective is £5OOO, to build a Plunket room at the entrance to the Polo Grounds and a Plunket room and children’s play centre on a site adjoining Crawford Green. So far, the president of the committee, Mr. Semple, has succeeded in raising nearly £lOOO in donations, and has secured other assets amounting to.nearly £6OO, He has also obtained promises of almost £6OO worth of material for the buildings. Sunday night’s concert was the first step in the raising of the balance of .the sum required, and there was a large attendance. The president, expressed the thanks of the committee to all those concerned in its production, including the owners, management, and staff of the theatre, and the artists who provided the p rogra m me._ ;
