TWO MEN BELIEVED DROWNED

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL. December 4

The first and second lighthouse keepers at. Centre Island went out fishing in a dinghy yesterday afternoon. When they did not return a search was carried out by plane mid two launches. There was no sign of their boat when darkness ended the search, but when it was resumed this morning the plane located the dinghy floating capsized five miles east of the island. A launch took the dinghy in tow. It was blowing half a gale with a high sea and there was no sign of tlie two men, who are presumed to have been drowned.

The men are John Tait, 30, married, aud Phil Hewitt, 21. single.
