HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS
Four records were broken by Norma Overton at the Hutt Valley High School annual' sports on Wednesday. In tho girls' senior long jump she cleared 15ft. 74in.. beating the previous record of 15ft. 44in, put up by P. Barton in 1933. In the girls’ senior high jump she cleared 4ft. 51iu., beating, the previous best of 4ft. 2*in. recorded by herself in 1942. In the senior girls' fiOyds. championship she recorded 6 1-5, beating the 6 2-5 put up by T. Kencb in 1929: and in the 150yds. girls' senior championship she did 19. beating the 19 1-5 recorded by P. Barton in 1933 and by E. Oliver iu 1935. The championship winners were:—Boys: Senior, D. Cameron; intermediate, K. Grindle and D. Bourne, equal: Junior, L. Smith. Girls: Senior, Norma Overton; intermediate. Barbara Hoare; junior. Peggy Simpson. The ititerhouse competition resulted:— Boys: Baldwin, 131; Kidson, 118; School. 100: Rlshworth, 71.
