RAIDED BY R.A.F.

Aerodrome Near Athens

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 27. A Middle East communique says that R.A.F. Liberators and Halifaxes attacked Kalamaki aerodrome, near Athens, on Saturday night. Bombs burst in the dispersal area and two large explosions were seen.

Beaufighters left a merchantman smoking after an ataek in daylight yesterday on Syros harbour, which is 80 miles southcast of Athens and less than 100 miles from the new British bases of Samos and the Dodecanese. We lost one aircraft.
