MY very grateful and sincere thanks go out to those Electors of Wellington Suburbs who voted for ine, as an official Labour candidate, ou Saturday. It is a great honour to be trusted by so many of one’s fellow citizens. It is also a great responsibility. In accepting the honour with genuine and, I hope, modest pride, I also accept the responsibility with a full sense of all it implies. It is my purpose to serve my constituents in this second period of office iu the same whole-hearted way as I did in the first. With their co operation and goodwill it will be easy to do this. I therefore need hardly add, I again look to them for that. To those Labour folk who worked so strenuously and unselfishly to secure my return I tender a special word of personal thanks. Their support and energy made my task the easier and every hour Of the contest a real pleasure.
