N.Z. SQUADRON’S FIRST SUCCESS
(Br Telogranh—Press Assn - Copyright.) (Special Australian Correspondent.) LONDON, September 17. The New Zeland Beaufighter (nightfighter) Squadron shot down its first German. It was a Dornier 217. and fell to the cannons of Flight Lieutenant E. C. 'Walt. Invercargill, whoso observer was Flying Officer Comes, from Kent. Both Flight. Lieutenant Watts mid his observer were sheep-farmers before the war 'Though this is fhe squadron’s first enemy aircraft, it Ims shot up many trains iu northern France.
