Historic Reserve. A decision by the Native Land Court at ilawera that 90 acres of Maori land on the banks of the Kaupokonui River should be set aside as a native reserve has recalled a piece of history in which Whango, chief of the Ngntiti tribe, received a visit from Taraikamo with a war party from the north.
