(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 10. Generals Alexander and Montgomery, Lieuteflant-General Anderson, and MajorGeneral 11. M. Gal& have been appointed Chief Commanders of the Legion of Merit by President Roosevelt. Lieutenant-Generals F. M. MasonMacFarlane and C. W. Allfrey have been appointed Commanders, and 13 other high British officers, nt the same time, have been made Officers of the Legion. The King has granted unrestricted permission for the weih'ing of the decorations, which have been conferred. “in recognition of distinguished service in the cause of the Allies.”
