The management committee of tho Wellington Rugby Union last night “eddqa that the four leading teams in the JuMlee .Cup competition—Punt’ko-Otlcntal, l®tono, Marist Brothers’ Old Boys, and Hutt—shall play-off for the senior championship was granted to Wellington College to play its annual tnatelii afeainst Wanganui College on Gift Wellington College ground on August 19. W miini?ion .Permission was granted to Wellington Training College to play Christchurch Training College at Wellington on August 21, on a ground to be arranged by the secretary of the union. . An application by the Wellington Training College club for permission to play a match against Auckland Trailnng College at Athletic Park on August 17 wus declined, due to the state of the ground. Permission was granted to the. second fifteen of St. Patrick’s College (Wellington) to play the ilfst fifteen of St. John s High School (Hastings) at Wellington ou August 21.

INTERISLAND MATCH

The president of the Wellington Rugby Referees’ Association, Mr. 13. Matthews, lias been appointed to referee land v. South Island lUiucli at Athletic I'nrk, Wellington, on Saturday next. Which will start at 2.39 p.nl. As no club matches will be ployed on Saturday and there lias been a keen demand for seats, it is expected that there will be a. large attendance at Tho interisland match will bo preceded by ceremonial displays by the Air Training Corps and the R.N.Z.AJi.
