Parliamentary Delegates Returning (Received August 10, 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 10. Messrs. L. G. Lowry and W. P. Endean have arrived in Australia on their way to New Zealand. Members of tne Australian delegation to the Empire Parliamentary conference in Ottawa, who have been touring North America and the United Kingdom, also returned. They were rushed from Ottawa to New York and across the continent by United States Army train in order to reach Australia before polling day, August 21. Mr. Lowry said they had been tremendously impressed by the high morale of the British people and their united support for Mr. Churchill. The fortitude and energy of (he British was magnificent. The Australian delegates spoke of the tremendous size of the British and American production programmes. Everyone had for a slogan •’Victory depends on me.” ”\Vc saw people who had their hoincH blown away the night before working luird at their lathes next, morning.” said one delegate. “In what little leisure time they have they tend their vegetable gardens in public parks or wherever there is a vacant piece of land. We saw factories employing up to 50,000 people. At least half the employees in England are women. and one factory we visited employed 08 per cent, of women. We were taken to giant bomber, fighter, and tank factories, and shipbuilding yards in England, Canada, and America, .and it is all very encouraging.” 4
