OFFICIAL’S ESPIONAGE
WASHINGTON, August 8. Roberto Lanas Valleeilla. aged 35, a Columbian employed by the Office of the Co-ordinator of Inter-American Affairs, was arrested on charges of espionage for Germany. Valleeilla admitted transmitting to Portugal three letters in secret ink containing information about American defence efforts.
