CIVILIANS KILLED IN AIR CRASH
(Received August 8, 5.30 p.m.) LONDON, August "■ Fourteen persons, apart from the crew, were killed when a R.A.F, plane crashed during exercises at Winslow. The plane struck a tree, bounced off on to the roof of a house, wrecked a public house on the opposite side of the street, and then ploughed into and set on lire some cottages. The,, licensee of the public house was killed, as well as members of five families in the cottages.
