Public beauests amounting to £l3OO are provided under the will of the late Sir Henry Horton, whose death occurred on July 11). The estate has been sworn for purposes of probate at under £200,000 and slightly more than half will be absorbed by death duties. The public bequests are: Wilson and Horton Staff Provident and Pension Fund. £500; New Zealand Institute for th a Blind. £100; St. Mary’s Homes,, Otahuhu, £100; Papatoetoe Orphan Home (Church of England), £100; Knox Home for Incurables. X10O: Salvation Army for uso in Auckland, £100; Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland for Boman Catholic orphan homes in bis diocese, £100; Waitangi Trust Board for upkeep and maintenance, £100; Leslie Orphanage, £5O; Manurewa Childrens Home, £5O. , , rT Shortly before his death Sir Henry made a gift of £lOOO to the St. John Ambulance Association in Auckland tor the purchase of a motor ambulance.
