CIVIC CENTRE PLAN

Adverse Opinion Of TownPlanning Institute

The opinion that the plan published by the Wellington City Council is so at variance with recognized town-plan-ning principles that it should not be proceeded with and that steps should be taken to restrain the Wellington City Council from putting any part of such scheme into operation till alternative plans, preferably by public competition, have been considered, was expressed in a resolution adopted at a general meeting of members of the Wellington branch of the Town Planning Institute, after it bad given consideration to the drawing published in “The Dominion” of the proposed civic centre for the city.
