FARMERS’ GRIEVANCE

DUNEDIN, June 3. The prevailing, note in the speeches at the annual meeting of the South Island Dairy Association was dissatisfaction with the Government attitude to tlie dairy industry and farmers generally. Approval of the suggestion that direct action would be justifiable after the war to gain redress was expressed by tlie chairman, Mr. 11. 11. Meredith (Wai mate), who stated that in the Dominion’s history there was no precedent for the utterly harsh and unjust treatment dealt out’ to the section of the people upon whose industry the welfare of th e country largely depended.
