Tliere was a iirm market for quality sheep, but there was a slight easing for unfinished ewes, there was good trade competition for the best class freezing buyers also operating. Fat cattle: A lew lines ot prime beef caused a rise of 11l a head for best fat catlie, but others were steady at low rates ruling at the Easter sale. The yarding of 407 comprised a mixed lot of culls, butchers’ cattle ami voung heifers receiving the only competition. The market for old cows is how disappearing rapidly. Bullocks from the far south were eagerly taken by the trade. Prime beef made 37/- to 30/0 per 1001 b.: medium. 33/- to 80/-: seeoiidanv from 30/-. Fat pigs.—The small yarding caused n rise in values of 4/- to 5Z- a head. Porkers were in verv short supply and bidding was keen.
