Many Idle Days Recently Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, jllarch 10. The Paparoa mine at Roa Ims worked about only 10 full days since before Christmas, the bins being full of coal. Meanwhile, under a new regulation, the company is required to pay the miners a minimum wage of £5/10/- a week whether or not they are working. Six ot t io men have, with the permission ot the manpower officer, obtained employment in other mines, thus relieving the position to n certain degree. Two each are now employed by Grey Valley Collieries, Brnonor Collieries and the Blackball State mine.
