GERMAN ARMAMENT
Production Maintained Formidably
("British Official Wireloss.) RUGBY, January 13.
There is no doubt that German armament production has been maintained on an exceedingly formidable scale, stated the Ministry of Economic Warfare today. New types of weapons have been manufactured, quality has been maintained, and new designs are going forward. Aircraft production has, along with laud armament and submarines, been maintained on it great scale, but it docs not look as if the production of aircraft is keeping pace with requirements. . However, the statement says, Herr Hitler is meeting with difficulty in regard to manpower requirements for industry and lias had Io draw substantially on Germany's allies as well as occupied territories. German allies, as a whole, seem rather dissatisfied and inclined to show their independence, and Germany's trade with Sweden has suffered front' the attitude not only of the Swedish authorities but also of Swedish shipowners, who show some reluctance to risk hulls under Intensified British attacks.
