Private Purchase From Producers A statement w(is issued yesterday by the Internal Marketing Division clarifying the rights of producers of eggs, honey and fruit, all of which are controlled, to sell to private retail pur, chasers. Consumers may purchase eggs, the statement says, from the occupier of a poultry run on which they are produced, for their own consumption and not in any case for resale, provided actual delivery of the eggs is given and taken at the poultry run. This regulation applies within the Wellington city area and as far as Upper Hutt and the Makara County (as defined by the egg marketing regulations and Gazette notice). L . There is at present no restriction on the sale of honey by producers or retailers, provided the requisite levy seal at the rate of id. a pound is affixed to tlie container in which the honey is sold. This condititon applies throughout New Zealand. Consumers may purchase for their own use and not in any case for resale graded apples direct from a producer in any part of New Zealand, provided that actual, delivery is made diiectly to the purchaser in the immediate vicinity of the orchard, or in a quantity not exceeding two bushel cases at any one time, and provided delivery is effected by the Railways Department or other common carrier.
