FORESTRY LEAGUE
Flora Competition For Children The Npw Zealand Forestry League, established in 1916, has during tlie last 15 years conducted a New Zealand flora competition for children. In that period about 800 competitors have seat in between 30,000 and 40,000 native specimens. The competition is open to all boys and girls in the Dominion. This year's prize-winners are :— Senior: Myles Briant, Homebrook School, Mataiwai, 1; James Morgans, Wimbleton, via Daimevirke, 2; Margaret Bond, Honikiwi, R.D., Otorohanga, and Jeannie Graham, Levin School, Levin, equal, 3. Junior: Patricia Stratford, Levin School, Levin, 1; Betty Wilson, Edgecombe, Bay of Plenty, 2; G. Beardmore, Pakawa School, Collingwood, Nelson, 3.
The exhibits which cover a wide range of New Zealand flora, are now on exhibition in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute Building, Wellington. Special interest is taken in the competition by lhe Levin School. About 69 children ami 12 adults from Levin visited Wellington yesterday. In the afternoon they were addressed by the chairman of the league. Mr. A. Leigh Hunt.’
