Mankind’s Greatest War.
“We are in the midst of mankind’s greatest war —a war to determine whether the march of progress shall proceed or be halted hy totality of conquest,” President Roosevelt said in the course of n statement in connexion with the celebration of Columbus Day. ‘‘American victory,” he added, “will be victory for the United Nations and victory for oppressed aud enslaved people everywhere.”
