Discharged Soldiers’ Needs The acute shortage of blankets and the unfortunate position of servicemen m this respect subsequent to their discharge formed the Subject of the S s0 ’ council appeal to the Government to make blankets available for purchase by servicemen on their discharge, sufficient f ° The Minister of Supply unit Munitions intiffiated in reply that it had been appreciated that every effort must be made to supply discharged servicemen kefs on their return, and that he had al ready arranged for this to be done in those cases which had come to his noThe heavy demands on the defence services made itnecessary that care must be exercised to conserve the blanket projlnrtion "enerally till such time as the peak of the defence needs had been passed In the meantime it was suggested that the local R.S.A.’s should advise the Minister of their most necessitous cases. Ahe Ministry would then allocate the order. The Dominion executive committee approved this procedure, at a recent meeting. ' .... - -
