HUTT YOUTH PARADE
The grandstand of the Recreation Ground in Lower Hutt was filled and several hundred stood on the ground before it during tile ceremonies attending yesterday afternoon’s youth parade m connexion with the Campaign for Christian Order, in which youth organizations from ail parts of the Hutt Valley participated. , . . A procession ot the organizations inarched from the . Hutt Central School via High Street to the recreation ground. Among the organizations taking part were units of the Order of St. John, both divisions of the Women’s Red Cross, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, and Boy’s and Girl’s Brigades. The service opened with the reading of passages of the scriptures relating to the new order. This was followed by a ceremonial presentation of . banners of lite organizations, after which a state; ment was read explaining the relation amt symbolism of each banner to the Christian movement. y A representative of Toe H read a statement of the organization’s interest in the campaign and a member of the Women's War Service Auxiliary gave her private view of the relation of religion to her work in tliat organization. The address by the Rev. L. A. North was on "Campaigners for Christian Order.” Tlie address was followed by . a statement of dedication read by the chairman of the ceremony, Canon 11. F. Davies. 'The Rev. L. V. Bibliy anil the Rev. R. G. Boyer also took part in the parade, and Mr. Graham Aitken represented the Bible Classes.
