LONDON, .July .19 It is announced in Chungking that (lie Chinese have, counterattacked in Chekiang Province and driven the Japanese out of the vital seaport of Wenchow, which a week ago was captured by strong Japanese forces with naval sup port. Thirteen miles further down the coast the Chinese also captured Juian, which Is also a key port. The Chinese just inside the Kiangs! border have retaken two railway towns, Hengfeng and lyang. The United Press says (lint the suecessfnl Chinese counter-attacks inflicted heavy casualties on (he JapaUVse. and that many of then) lied to sea. while others are eurronnded near Wenchow and face annihilation. Military leaders point out that the recapture of lyang has knocked out the Japanese communications with the north, thereby rendering the CliekiangKiangsi railway virtually useless for the Japanese.
