Canteen Workers at Y.M.C.A. With their convener, Mrs. M. J. Bentley, members of the W.W.S.A. canteen group were hostesses at the Wellington Y.M.C.A. tea on Sunday night. Mr. R. T. Wright was chairman. Items were given by Miss Olga Burton, Miss Mollie Atkinson, Mr. Fountain, Private Shepherd, Miss Monica Bell, Miss Ortni Reid, Miss Nora Gray. Mr. H. Hindle led community singing, with Mr. Wood at the piano. Lower Hutt Service Club. The Lower Hutt Service Club, run by the women's section of the R.S.A., is becoming a popular rendezvous for the men ct the Forces and the hall was packed to capacity during the weekend. The Red , Cross Transport members, convener Mrs. Ashley Duncan, were the hostesses, and delightful meals were served and much appreciated. Dancing was enjoyed and Mrs. Halligan orought a party of guest artists who contributed considerably to the enjoyment of the weekend. .Among the performers were Mr. and Mrs. Allwright, Mrs. Speering, Major and Mrs. Hoffman. Mrs. Ingles, Mrs. Jackson, Miss Fisher, Mr. R. H. Ninimo, Nigel Hoffman. Miss E. Hatts’ pupils gave several delightful dance items which were apI reciated. Cinderellas’ Dances. The Cinderella Club rooms were crowded on Friday night, and dauciug to Gordon Harple f s music was enjoyed. On Sunday a hot tea was served, followed by dancing to music supplied by Mrs. ?jlen and Mr. and Mrs. Kostela, The ' Masters Hippett were also present and assisted with the music. Girls on duty 1 vere Misses J. Spillane, M. Thomson, A. Mac Diarmid. W McKay, B. McMillan, P, Mexted, H. Halley, T. Tasker Spinsters’ Chib Attendances. A total of SOO servicemen visited the Spinsters’ Club, Wellington, during Sunday afternoon and evening, when the usual dance and tea was provided by the girls. An orchestra played for dancing. There were correspondingly large attendances at the Tuesday and Friday night dances. Tonight the members are to entertain their girl visitors at a five to seven party, after which the usual dauee will be held for men of the forces. 1
