LEND-LEASE PLAN

U.S. Administrator Visits

Britain (British Official Wireless.) (Received July 17, 7.5 p.m.) RUGBY, July 16.

Mr. Edward Stettinus, the United States Lend-Lease Administrator, arrived in London today. He said America’s policy was to send as great a quantity of armaments as possible in the shortest possible time wherever they would do our common enemies the most harm. America would continue to supply food to those who fought with the Allies and raw materials for their factories. The Americans were doing, and would continue to do, these things m the closest co-operation with Great Britain and their other allies. The purpose of his visit was to see how the lend-lease policy was working and to see if it could be improved.
