COMPENSATION FIXED
Expropriated Mexican Oilfields WASHINGTON, April 18. .Mexico and the United Stales have agreed on the figure of 23,990,000 dollars as just compensation for the American oil companies whose Mexican properties wore expropriated four years ago. The State Department, will now notify the oil companies officially and await their decision regarding acceptance of this amount. The agreement is expected to influence a .Mexican settlement, with the vastly more important British companies the properties of which were expropriated al the same time, also to have a bearing on the eventual disposal of American mining properties, the value of which is estimated at -100,000,000 dollars.
