MINE STILL IDLE

Safety Of Railway Questioned (By Telegraph —Press A.S’Sociatiun.) GKEYMUUTII. April 20. The Liverpool State Aline, which was to have resumed today after being idle since April 7 on account of extensive clips on the railway line between Duiiollie and .Kewaiiui, did not resume. The Railways Departnuut decided that the line would be opened in the daytime, but no trains would be run during darkness, because of the danger of further slips. Aliuers on late shift would thus have to walk front Duiiollie to Rewanui, a distance of three miles. The miners decided at a meeting this morning Hutt if the line was not safe at night for frame then it was not safe in the daytime. The men returned home.
