WOMEN’S LAND ARMY IN BRITAIN
RUGBY, April 16. Tlie Minister of Agriculture, answering a question in the House of Commons, said that on Ji arch 31 the women’s land army in England and Wales amounted to just on 28,000. During March 2576 new members were enrolled, and about 3876 had been placed in employ meat, the highest monthly placing figure yet reached. The women’s land army, he said, had only a small reserve of volunteers who had not yet been called up, and a number of recruits with good physique would be needed during tile coming months.
