DETAINED FOR NATIONAL WELFARE

(BrLtitsh Official WireLeiss.) RUGBY, April 16. The Minister of National Security, Mr. Morrison, stated in the House of Commons that 229 persons of British origin are still detained under regulation JBB. Of these, 135 have been detained 'because of membership or activity in furtherance of the objects of lhe “British Union.” They are not detained because they have broken the law, but because their detention for preventive purposes is necessary in the biterests of national welfare.
