CHINESE RECAPTURE TOUNGOO
Strong Stand In Burma (Received April 17, 1.55 a.m.) NEW DELHI, April 16. Chinese troops, assisted by the American Volunteer Group firmly hold the Swa River 23 miles north of Toungoo, and also have recaptured Toungoo, while the Japanese pressure is still increasing, says a Chungking communique.
