FORM OF TROTTERS
Hutt Park Prospects
(By
Overcheck.)
The fields for the two races for unhoppled trotters at Hutt Park on Saturday are of a size that should give every horse a fair chance of success, and. the races should be full of interest. The following is a brief summary of form:— . , >rr Amonos has not won a race for a time, and his more recent form has nut been very impressive. His only placed performance this season was a Second at New Brighton in December when he registered 3.2 a from a 3.31 mark. Hatrack has been four times third tins season. Two of these performances were registered at Addington and the other two at New Brighton. On the latter course in February he w r ent 3.23 4-5 from 3.31.. Jimmy Drusus registered three wins at Waikato and Auckland in December, and ran second at New Brighton in February, going 3.22 from a 3.30 mark. He has shown improved iorm this season. Manlan has not had a great deal ot racing this season. At Addington in January he won over a mile and a " all 10 3.23 from 3.33. It was a useful field including Listowel (third), Bomber and Koyai Worthy. . Smooger has not raced for some tune and consequently' little is known as to his present condition. He is a useful sort when right, but those with recent racing will no doirbt be preferred. Great Mountain is getting on in years but notwithstanding is still a very capable performer, lie won at New Brighton In December and was third at Addington in January. At New Brighton he went 3.24 from 3.31, winking by three lengths from Amonos, with Hatrack four lengths farther back iu third place. Allie Audubon did well last season, winning eight races, but she has not gone on with it. Her only placed performance this year was registered at Oamaru where she ran third to Within and Lament, but the Held was made up of only live runners. . . . Te Kahu made his reappearance at Afldington recently, running third the hrst day to Margin and Ganton, the lornier conceding 24 yards. He ran .°“ the second day, so his form is promising. Mah Jong is a young horse of more than average ability. Early in the season ehe won a race at Auckland, and in No'ember she won a double at Addington. At the recent metropolitan meeting she finished second to Margin, who was conceding -* yards. She is a likely .prospect. Margin has had a very good run so far and has won each of her three hmt races. At New Brighton she registered 3.1 b _-o—a verv good effort. Her recent successes naturally make her task harder on this occasion, but her eonsisteucy cannot lightly be disregarded.
