Editor-Manager Appointed The Dominion executive committee of the New Zealand Returned Services Association has confirmed the appointment of Mr. John Morgan Davies', Wellington, as editor-manager of the association's journal, "Review,” Mr. Davies is a Welshman who enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1911., lie served on stations between the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean, and had many experiences with submarines. While engaged iu escorting French troops from Algeria to Marseilles in 1917, his ship had a bitter but successful contest with a German submarine, and for his work in the engagement Mr. Davies received Hie French Croix de Guerre. Mr. Davies is a member of the executive committee of the Wellington U.S.A., and. apart from his iinliagging interest iu U.S.A, and Tin Hal Club activities, lie lias always taken an active interest in tile Welsh Society of Wellington, and was its president from 1930 to 1932. In that capacity he presided at the public meeting in ' Wellington Town Hall nt which the Welsh community welcomed Lord ami Lady Bledisloe to New Zealand, and he later'organized the fund to commemorate their stay in this Dominion by presenting to tlie"Royal National Eisteddfod of Wales a Maori carved Bardie chair as a gift from the Welsh people in New Zealand. In the days of the Broadcasting Company he frequently gave topical talks ami' continuity programmes written by himself from 2YA. He was the author of a song seena, "The Floral Dance,” which was produced at each of the YA stations and later accepted by the 8.8. C. Mr. Davies, who has been many years on the Staff of the "Evening Post," 'Wellington, has had a wide experience iu advertising and considerable experience as a free-lance writer. With the exception of five years spent iu Hie Royal Navy he Illis always been associated with newspaper work. He was also the author of the centennial publication known -is "Warriors in Mufti,'’ published by the Wellington R.S.A. Mr. Davies will take up his new duties almost immediately
