Latest Heavy Attack I British Official Wireless? RUGBY, April 14. Five German bombers were destroyed over Malta in the 2-1 hours preceding 5 p.m. on Monday by anti-aircraft guns, which have been continuously in action. Attacks were delivered on Sunday evening on the aerodromes and the haAour area by numerous bombers, accompanied by a strong fighter escort. During Sunday night a few single aircraft crossed the coast. Some bombs fell on land. German ami Italian claims that many anti-aircraft batteries have been silenced are untrue. 'There was some damage on Sunday, and a few civilian casualties. The March casualties were 231 killed, 281 seriously injured- and 297 with minor injuries. A Cairo Press message indicates that yesterday's raid on Malta was again on a heavy scale. It is estimated that nearly 150 enemy aircraft participated.
